Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program

Train to become a heavy equipment operator as part of a stand-alone program¹ or after graduating from the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology or the Heavy Equipment Service Technology program. Our experienced instructors teach you basic operational techniques, earthmoving, and civil drawing interpretation. In a simulated environment, you get to operate a variety of mobile, off‐road equipment and perform exercises on excavator and wheeled loader equipment. Simulator exercises include basic controls, loading, and unloading, excavating, and trenching.

In the Heavy Equipment Operator programs, you learn the technical skills, safety practices, and real-world operating techniques you need to work with large construction and earth-moving machinery. Training combines classroom instruction with hands-on practice using simulators.
